Influenza has come to our community within the past two weeks--an early start to the "season". We are seeing increasing numbers of cases each day.

This is not to be confused with the intestinal virus ("stomach flu") that has been circulating for the last month or so. "Respiratory flu" causes severe cough, high fever, body aches, chills and lethargy lasting one to two weeks. Please visit the "American Academy of Pediatrics Educational LIbrary" or the "Sick Child?" section from any page of our site for more detailed information.

It is not too late to get a flu vaccine! Significant immunity to influenza develops within two weeks after receiving the vaccine. Call our office today to schedule a time to immunize your child!
