April and May are often our biggest months for strep throat infections in central Illinois.  This year is no exception, though some years have been much worse.  Children of grade school age seem to be affected in the greatest numbers this year.

Common symptoms of this illness besides sore throat are headache, stomachache with or without nausea, dizziness, fatigue and muscle aches.  Though many children have fever with strep thoat, many do not.  And some don't even have a sore throat!
