Bloomington Pediatrics No Longer Admitting Inpatients to St. Joseph Hospital
Effective January 1, 2018, the physicians of Bloomington Pediatrics and Allergy will no longer admit and follow inpatients at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington. We will continue to order blood tests, X-rays and other studies at St. Joseph's and other OSF medical facilities.
Our newborns at St. Joseph will be cared for by neonatalogists from Children's Hospital of Illinois (CHOI). Pediatric patients needing hospitalization will be treated by OSF pediatricians at St. Jospeh or transferred to CHOI depending on their medical needs. We will follow both our newborn and pediatric patients in our office after discharge.
We will continue to admit and follow our pediatric patients at Advocate BroMenn Medical Center.
We will also see our newborns daily at BroMenn. Advocate neonatalogists will care for those with medical difficulties as they have been doing for more than a year. Newborns requiring a higher level of care will be transferred to a neonatal intensive care unit, usually CHOI.
Please contact our head nurse, Michaele, at 309-662-0504, extension 1, if you have questions. Your doctor will be happy to speak with you about this at your next visit too.
